A Rich History in Downtown Hibbing
The Sunrise Lybba Deli has been operating in downtown Hibbing since the 1980s, serving homemade Iron Range favorites. In recent years, Sunrise has began wholesaling their handcrafted pastas, pasta sauces, pasties, pot pies, and sarmas across the state under the name Sunrise Creative Gourmet.
The historic Sunrise Deli building has a storied past as the former Lybba Theater, once owned by Bob Dylan’s uncle, and holds a significant place in the town’s heritage.

In 2023, Mikal and Melissa Brown took over Sunrise Lybba Deli from its founders, Mary and Tom Forti, who had run the business since the 1980s.
While keeping many customer favorites, the Browns have also introduced exciting new menu items and are putting their own spin on the deli.
